We’re Josh and Nicole Baldonado, and these are our kids, Nora, Titus and Luka.
In 2014, we moved to L’viv, Ukraine, where we partnered with New Horizons, a church and non-profit organization. We focused on mentoring and giving to our community. Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, we have been displaced to Poland, where we are continuing to serve Ukrainian people. To learn more specifics about what we do, click here.
A little more about Josh
I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later moved with my family to Minnesota and then Indiana. After graduating high school, I worked full time and then gained my Associate’s Degree in Theology through Calvary Chapel Bible College Indianapolis. I attended Horizon Christian Fellowship in Indianapolis for 15 years and served there in the sound, youth, and home fellowship ministries.
I visited Ukraine multiple times before our move and spent a summer serving with New Horizons church.
I’m becoming an avid runner and love getting to know the running community everywhere we go.
About Nicole
I moved with my parents and four younger siblings to Ukraine when I was twelve, and since that time have lived in Ukraine, Hungary and Indiana. I graduated from Calvary Chapel Bible College in Vajta, Hungary and later earned a degree in social work from the University of Indianapolis. I worked for the Indiana Attorney General’s Office as part of a statewide task force to address human trafficking.
Being Mama to our sweet Nora, Titus and Luka is one of the greatest joys I can imagine. Coincidentally, it’s also the hardest thing I’ve ever done! I also have a passion for intercultural experience, community outreach, and learning languages.
About Nora
I can’t believe I’m writing this, but Nora was nine in August. She is our sunshine at home, full of laughter and energy and curiosity. We adore her strong will and compassionate heart. Nora loves playing outside, reading, playing with her little brothers, making new friends, and snuggling her cat.
About Titus
Titus was born here in L’viv in June, 2016. He has introduced us to the concept of “busy child.” Spills, messes and minor disasters are a daily – no, an hourly occurrence. He loves figuring things out, taking toys apart and seeing how they work. His most recent interests are solving math questions and wrestling with Luka.
About Luka
Luka was born in December, 2018 after a very hard pregnancy. He was the product of ceaseless prayers all over the world and reminds us each day that God is faithful. He’s a comic, making crazy faces and antics and always trying to get a laugh. His favorite thing in the world these days are cats.
